Softball All-Star Coaches Selection Plan

I. ASSOCIATION COACHES:

Member varsity softball coaches of the TGCA may nominate two coaches for the

Red/Blue All-Star softball games.

As of the 2007-08 school year TGCA members selected as All-Star coaches may

serve as an All-Star coach twice, once as the head coach and once as the

assistant coach.

Submit nominations online or print a nomination form from the TGCA website.

Nominations are due Monday noon prior to the State Softball Tournament.

The Red section includes TGCA Regions 1, 3, 4 and 6.

The Blue section includes Regions 2, 5, 7, and 8.

These regions are not the same as UIL Regions.

Only head varsity girls softball coaches are eligible to coach the All-Star teams.

All-Star coaches must be members by the November 1st deadline.

Nominations must be submitted to the TGCA office by the deadline.

(Monday noon prior to the state tournament)

II. SOFTBALL COMMITTEE CHAIR

Will preside over the Softball Committee meeting held during the UIL State Softball

tournament. The Committee Chair will provide committee members with a list from the

Executive Director of nominated coaches during this meeting.

III. SOFTBALL COMMITTEE

At the Softball Committee meeting during the state tournament, the Committee will

screen the list of nominated coaches and make final selections for Red and Blue

All-Star coaches for the 1A-2A-3A-4A All-Star teams and the 5A-6A All-Star teams.
Two coaches will be selected for each All-Star team (8 coaches total).

IV. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Will receive the selections from the Softball Committee Chair. After verification, the

All-Star softball coaches will be notified in writing of this selection.
